Planning a child’s birthday party is a fun experience but can also be a bit stressful. Here are some great tips to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible:

  • When creating your invite list remember that your child does not have to invite their whole class. If your child is not inviting every classmate, then remind your child not to talk about the birthday party during school and do not have your child hand out invitations at school.
  • If the RSVP deadline has passed and there are still people who have not RSVP’d give them a call to see if they will be able to attend. Often people plan on attending a party and simply forget to RSVP.
  • Birthday parties are a great time to reinforce those great manners your child has been learning. Make sure your child greets each guest and thanks them for coming. If they bring a gift, make sure the birthday child thanks each person for their gift. You can also have your child pass out goody bags.
  • If you plan to have competitive games make sure each child is able to go home with a prize.
