So you were able to take a vacation. How do you get back into the flow? Here are a few tips:
1) Call a co-worker a day before you head back in. Find out what has been going down since you’ve been away—projects, recent emergencies, etc.
2) Come back Tuesday. Mondays are always hectic days to return from a relaxing vacation. A shorter week will help you relax a bit longer.
3) Check voicemail and e-mail from home. Dealing with messages at home will make the first day back more productive.
4) Come back early. Plan your vacation so you return to the office before people officially expect you. Getting in ahead of time gives you a buffer day to readjust and lets you catch up with fewer interruptions.
